IMA Medicine Bank

The Charitable Medicine bank of IMA Cochin was started in1988 in the old IMA building, opposite Lotus club. It was mainly intended for the poor patients of General hospital. The sample medicines donated by the members of Cochin IMA were collected and were freely distributed to the needy people irrespective of caste, religion or sex.

At present the location of the medicine bank is in S. S. KALAMANDIR building. Every year on an average 2000 persons are availing the free medicines supply which are given under the supervision of qualified pharmacist from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm every day except Sunday and public holidays. Lot of destitute homes are taking medicines for their inmates. During the time of Kerala flood and COVID pandemic yeomen service was rendered to people far and nearby places.

We have completed 35 years of service without a break. We hope we will be able to give better service to the needy and downtrodden for the years to come.
